Designed for tanks up to 10 gallons, this filter cycles water at a rate of 45 Gallons per Hour (GPH), making it an excellent choice for Freshwater and Nano aquariums, as well as a variety of Terrarium setups.

Accommodating a range of needs, the Cascade 170 features an adjustable flow switch that allows for increased or decreased water flow, which can be particularly helpful during feeding times or when customization is required. Additionally, the directional flow nozzle provides further tank customization and convenience. The filter also utilizes 4 suction cups, enabling both vertical and horizontal mounting positions to suit your specific setup.

Fully submersible, the Cascade 170 comes equipped with a small, internal Bio-Sponge that optimizes the colonization of anaerobic bacteria, while also providing mechanical filtration to trap large particulate matter. Although accessing the Bio-Sponge can be a bit tricky, users are encouraged to pull the filter apart without hesitation. Although replacement sponges (Model #: CIF4FI) are the only readily available option, the internal media chamber can be customized with other filter media to cater to the unique needs of your tank.

Offering a convenient all-in-one solution, the Cascade 170 features Venturi Aeration, which provides your tank with filtered, oxygenated water, eliminating the need for a separate air pump. To utilize this feature, simply connect the Air Tube and Air Muffler to the Flow Nozzle, and follow the included instructions. It's important to fully submerge and fill the filter with water before turning it on.
